I am a Catholic Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist serving individuals and couples throughout California and Arizona. I work with people who want real, lasting change rather than temporary relief.
Many people begin therapy feeling stuck. They notice the same patterns repeating in their lives, relationships, and emotional responses. As a result, they often feel frustrated, discouraged, or overwhelmed. My goal is to help you understand what is happening, why it is happening, and what you can do to create meaningful change.
Catholic Therapist for Individuals and Couples
Therapy is more than simply talking about problems. Instead, it is an opportunity to learn new skills, gain deeper insight, and practice healthier ways of thinking and relating. Through this process, many clients develop greater stability, clarity, confidence, and freedom.
As a husband, father of six children, and ordained permanent deacon in the Catholic Church, I believe spirituality plays an important role in many people’s lives. However, I also understand that every client brings a unique background, set of beliefs, and life experience into therapy. Therefore, I strive to meet each person where they are and build a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, respect, and understanding.
A Practical and Collaborative Approach
Over the years, I have worked with individuals facing anxiety, depression, grief, addiction, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. In addition, I have served people who feel marginalized, isolated, or overwhelmed by difficult circumstances.
Whether you are struggling with anxiety, navigating a painful loss, experiencing symptoms of depression, or facing conflict in your relationship, I am committed to helping you better understand yourself and your experiences. At the same time, I will help you develop practical tools that support meaningful and lasting change.
My approach is collaborative and goal-oriented. Together, we will identify the challenges you are facing, explore the patterns that may be contributing to those difficulties, and develop strategies that move you toward your goals. Lasting change requires active participation, honesty, and a willingness to examine thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Consequently, therapy becomes a process of growth rather than simply symptom management.
Experience and Background
As both a Catholic therapist and an ordained permanent deacon in the Diocese of San Diego, I became increasingly aware of the need for therapists who understand the importance of faith and spirituality. Because of that experience, I pursued a Master’s degree in Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent years serving individuals, couples, and families through ministry. During that time, I worked with couples experiencing relationship difficulties, families caring for sick children, individuals facing end-of-life concerns, people grieving the loss of loved ones, those struggling with addiction, and individuals experiencing homelessness or incarceration.
Additionally, I became certified as a Domestic Violence Counselor and have taught workshops focused on communication and relationship skills. I remain passionate about understanding what helps relationships thrive, and I continually integrate that knowledge into my therapeutic work.
Why “This Is The Day Therapy”?
I chose the name This Is The Day Therapy from Psalm 118:24: “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
This verse reflects a belief that has guided both my ministry and my clinical work. Although life often includes pain, loss, uncertainty, and suffering, every day presents an opportunity to take a step forward.
Healing rarely happens all at once. Instead, it happens one day at a time, one decision at a time, and one step at a time.
Today can be the day you begin making the changes that lead to a healthier, more fulfilling life.
